It was organized by David Barter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Councillor Cathy Deagle Gammon was among those who took time to do some litter pickup. (Healey photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other volunteers were spotted by Lake Fletcher near where a resident has their boat\/dock on Hwy 2 in Fletcher\u2019s Lake as they picked up trash along the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More were spotted by Inner Strength Taekwondo on the stretch of Hwy 2 that goes between there and Laurie Park. It appeared there were a few bags full of garbage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mom and her two kids were also doing their part in Oaken Hills, picking up garbage in the neighbourhood from their home down to Hwy 2 past the postal boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/342667601_115716674811121_3992802204367328020_n-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35599\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Some of the community volunteers that did the cleanup. (Healey photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another mom and her two children volunteered and got directed to the parking lot at Laurie Park in Grand Lake where they had picked up many dog poop bags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the garbage were to be picked up by volunteers and brought to the Wellington Community Centre, where a truck from HRM was coming to collect it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizers of the cleanup wanted to thank everyone for taking time on such a nice Spring day to help make their community better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s their hope the community cleanup can become an annual event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;71&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;126&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/342363378_535950198751219_8655560216315527563_n-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35598\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The amount of garbage collected near the end of the cleanup.
