LANTZ:<\/strong> The preliminary work for the replacement of Hyde\u2019s Bridge in Lantz has begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gary Andrea, spokesman with the Department of Public Works, confirmed that the activity residents nearby are seeing is the start of work by the contractor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe placement of gravel is the start of the bridge replacement project,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrea said the removal of the old Hyde\u2019s Bridge is set to start in late May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe contractor is building a crane pad to aid in the removal of the existing structure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added any in-water work can not take place until June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe current completion and opening for the bridge is still Fall 2023,” said Andrea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
