{"id":36247,"date":"2023-06-04T18:45:20","date_gmt":"2023-06-04T21:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=36247"},"modified":"2023-06-04T18:45:20","modified_gmt":"2023-06-04T21:45:20","slug":"restrictions-to-travel-wood-activities-being-lifted-in-all-but-shelburne-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=36247","title":{"rendered":"Restrictions to travel, wood activities being lifted in all but Shelburne County"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;127&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;169&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HALIFAX:<\/strong> Nova Scotia is lifting restrictions on travel and activities in the woods in all areas except for Shelburne County and anywhere evacuation orders are in place, effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, June 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We know that using our woods and trails are important to many Nova Scotians&#8217; physical and mental health,&#8221; said Tory Rushton, Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables. &#8220;Thanks to the weather, conditions have improved in the province, but we still need be cautious. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are keeping the burn ban in place and asking people to continue to be responsible while enjoying the outdoors.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;192&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities that are now permitted include hiking, camping, fishing and the use of vehicles in the woods. The provincewide burn ban is still in place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fine for violating the ban is $25,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evacuation orders are still in place.
