With the result, Canada punched their ticket to the finals in 2024, also to be held in Thunder Bay, Ont. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team went 4-1 (won-loss) while the U.S. went undefeated to win Group A. Mexico was third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the Lockview High alum first time attending WSBC and international baseball competition. She said it was a huge honour to be part of the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt has been my dream since I was 11 to wear the Team Canada jersey and represent them at an international event,\u201d said Konigshofer in an interview with The Laker News last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was such a surreal moment to hear the fans chanting the lyrics of O Canada as we were lining up for the national anthem. It was everything I could\u2019ve ever dreamed of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;127&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;190&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said it means a lot to her to know her performance was a contributing role in the teams success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Konigshofer threw three innings surrendering one earned run and had a 2.33 ERA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the plate she was perfect two-for-two with a home run and four RBI\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The home run was against Korea and drove in two runs to give Canada a 2-0 lead. She has a support team there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t be where I am today with my development if it wasn\u2019t for my team at One Last Rep,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was asked about what the atmosphere was like at the WSBC Women\u2019s Baseball World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was electric,\u2019 said Konigshofer. \u201cOur game against the United States was the most fans that I have played in front of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKnowing that every single fan was there to watch women\u2019s baseball is truly heartwarming, seeing how much the women\u2019s side of the game is growing since I\u2019ve started playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaving the support of fans gave us energy and a boost on the field throughout the event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/365856954_322305203563865_9007659161530225945_n-1024x1020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38100\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Julia Konigshofer dishes a pitch from the slab with Team Canada.
