Lewis, of Beaver Bank, made it official earlier this month that she will be heading to Boston College beginning in September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Athletics East athlete will be joining the Eagles track and field team, which competes against other NCAA Division 1 schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lewis said the process behind choosing where she would go upon graduation from Lockview High was a long one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know Boston College is the best fit for me,\u201d said Lewis in an interview with The Laker News. \u201cIt (the process) can be a little bit stressful because you want to make sure you find the right place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”8″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”169″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”71″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n She has had some recent international and national success and has been one that many universities have had an eye on for quite some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lewis said there were other schools interested and she visited a few before choosing Boston College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBoston College felt most like home for me,\u201d she said. \u201cCoach Watson has big goals for the team and I\u2019m really happy to be part of the program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 17-year-old is relieved to have the decision made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m very confident I made the right choice,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”190″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”115″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”54″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n She said she plans to work hard during the upcoming high school and provincial track and field season to be in the best form possible to hit the ground running\u2014literally and figuratively\u2014fast upon arrival at Boston College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lewis was grateful for all the support she received and continues to receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe support of my family, friends, and coaches are really important to me as I wouldn\u2019t have this opportunity without them,\u201d she said. \u201cMy parents supported me through every step of this decision process so I\u2019m really grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She said many factors went into deciding on Boston College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere were many factors to consider such as the location, school, and team environment,\u201d said Lewis. \u2018Overall, I feel BC was perfect for me.
