MILFORD:<\/strong> Here is a look at the September calls for Stewiacke\/East Hants volunteer fire departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information is provided by fire departments in Stewiacke; Lantz; Mount Uniacke; Enfield; Shubenacadie; Milford; Kennetcook; and Elmsdale; and Nine Mile River fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kennetcook fire<\/strong> had two calls for the month, a medical assist call and a power pole on fire call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The month of September kept Milford Fire moving<\/strong>. They responded to 20 Calls during the month, eight of which were mutual aid to neighbouring communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department was also dispatched to four Motor Vehicle accidents; one Residential Structure Fire; one medical assist; one lift Assist to EHS; one Power Lines Arching; one Smoke Condition; a Standby Call; a call for an unknown odour; and one Commercial Fire Alarm call.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine Mile River fire<\/strong> responded to five calls last month. The fire crews had two calls for power lines down; two motor vehicle collisions; and one power pole on fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Elmsdale fire,<\/strong> they responded to 23 calls in September, led by nine medical assists. They also were paged for four motor vehicle collisions; two alarm activations; two structure fires; three power lines; one brush fire; and one illegal burn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniacke & District Volunteer Fire<\/strong> responded to the following calls for September. 12 medical assists; four power lines down; five motor vehicle collisions; one camper trailer fire; one illegal burn; one gas leak; and two public assistance calls. They had 28 during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department wished to thank everyone for attending their open house during Fire Prevention Week on Oct. 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September, Lantz fire<\/strong> had 22 calls, with 11 medical assists leading the total tally. They also had three alarm activations; two motor vehicle collisions; two brush fires; two structure fires; one rescue; and one public assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfield fire<\/strong> responded to 35 calls during the 30 days of September, led by 11 medical assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firefighters also heard the \u2018sound of their people\u201d five times for motor vehicle collisions; five brush fires; four power pole fires; two structure fires; two vehicle fires; two alarm activations; and four mutual aid calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Stewiacke fire<\/strong>, they had 26 calls with 12 medical assists leading the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next was five calls for power lines\/poles on fire; then it was three commercial fire alarms; two motor vehicle collisions; one stand by; one mutual aid to Brookfield; one structure fire; and one vehicle fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shubenacadie Fire<\/strong> had 15 calls recorded as them responding to in September. They were led by seven mutual aid request to neighbouring communities\u2014five to Indian Brook and two to Maitland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department responded to one gas detector; one medical assist; one smoke sighting one alarm; one motor vehicle collision in Indian Brook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Maitland, Shubie fire responded to one motor vehicle collision and one medical assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For their own district, they had two alarm activation calls; one vehicle fire; one gas detector; and one medical assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
