LANTZ:<\/strong> In a battle of David vs Goliath, it was David coming out on top in N.S. U16 AAA hockey league play at the Ice Pad B at the East Hants Sportsplex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kings Hockey team came in as the fourth-place team facing the Fundy Thunder in a rematch of a game from the day before in Sackville. Fundy is 10th<\/sup> in the 11-team league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it was the Thunder who were determined to come out with the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the two teams played an exciting contest, it was a late penalty that came back to haunt the Kings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Vandenburg scored the powerplay goal past Nolan McLauchlan who appeared to not even see the shot through a screen by a player in his crease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That tied the game and would see the game head to overtime, which solved nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fundy scored in the shootout to pick up win two on the season. The player who scored wasn’t posted on the online game sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nic MacIntyre and Braden Martin had the Kings goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson Orchard of Lantz; Max Blackwood of Beaver Bank; and Marco Langille had the assists for the losing squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McLauchlan stopped 23 of 25 pucks sent his way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Elmsdale resident Will Singer picked up an assist on Vandenburg\u2019s game tying goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
