{"id":41302,"date":"2023-12-13T22:01:46","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T02:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=41302"},"modified":"2023-12-13T22:01:46","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T02:01:46","slug":"video-photos-braeden-bannister-memorial-fund-big-winner-from-rcmp-herh-charity-hockey-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=41302","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO\/PHOTOS: Braeden Bannister Memorial Fund big winner from RCMP, HERH charity hockey game"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;126&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LANTZ: <\/strong>The East Hants RCMP may have won the charity hockey game over the HERH boys Tigers, but it was the Braeden Bannister Memorial Fund coming out the real winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two teams played the fundraiser game in the Keith Miller Arena at the East Hants Sportsplex before a full house on Nov. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RCMP won the game 6-4, but it could have been Hants East Tigers who won if not for the solid and TSN plays of the night-type goaltending from East Hants\u2019 goalie Layla Fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Braeden Bannister Memorial Fund is a fund that gives back to the community of East Hants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fish, with Halifax District RCMP, stopped more than 45 shots form the Tigers, who play in the Northern N.S. High school hockey league and were in first place at the time of this exhibition game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/15-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41311\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Const. (Dagley Media photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;8&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;115&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RCMP offence was led by JP Harvey, who scored twice on nice dangles on penalty shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fish stood on her head as the RCMP led 4-2 at one point, only to see the Tigers gain momentum with a pair of goals before Harvey had a penalty shot tally to go ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RCMP team added another goal and when the final buzzer went the crowd cheered both teams as the RCMP won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams received player of the game honours to their top players, and then posed for a group photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/031-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41304\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Layla Fish was a wall in the RCMP&#8217;s net.
