{"id":41470,"date":"2023-12-19T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=41470"},"modified":"2023-12-19T08:30:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T12:30:00","slug":"from-the-firehouse-nov-calls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=41470","title":{"rendered":"From the Firehouse &#8211; Nov. calls"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Brought to you by:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;67&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SHUBENACADIE:<\/strong> Here\u2019s a look at some of the fire calls for the month of November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information included is provided by participating volunteer fire departments from Stewiacke fire; Elmsdale fire; Milford fire; Shubenacadie fire; and Nine Mile River fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Stewiacke fire<\/strong>, they responded to 18 calls last month, led by eight medical assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firefighters were also toned out for three mvc\u2019s; two mutual aid calls to neighbouring departments; two commercial fire alarms; and one each of a lift assist; vehicle fire; and public assist calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nine Mile River fire<\/strong> was paged out for three mutual aid requests to neighbouring departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The month of November kept <strong>Milford Fire<\/strong> on the move. The department was dispatched for 14 Calls this month; half were for mutual aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firefighters responded to the \u201csound of their people\u201d for four MVC\u2019s; four Commercial Fire Alarms; two Commercial Structure Fires; one residential Structure Fire; one possible Structure Fire which turned out to be a Chimney Fire; one Public Assist; and one Vehicle Fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Milford Fire would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support to the Nova Scotia Firefighters 50\/50. Your proceeds help support and keep your community safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we near the festive season, your local departments are running some form of a food drive in support of local food banks; giving a little goes a long way in making the season brighter for all families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Elmsdale fire<\/strong>, they attended to 23 calls in November, led by 14 medical assists. They also had four fire calls; three mvc\u2019s; one alarm activation; and one investigation call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shubenacadie fire<\/strong> had eight calls last month, led by five mutual aid requests to neighbouring departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firefighters were also paged for one downed power line wires; one mvc; and one vehicle fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the mutual aid calls, they went to an mvc in Indian Brook; an mvc in Milford; one structure fire in Milford; a public assist in Milford; and a structure fire in Station 40 Dutch Settlement\u2019s area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no info from Mount Uniacke, Kennetcook, Lantz, and Enfield submitted by Dec. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>From the Firehouse is brought to you by:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;67&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brought to you by: [adrotate banner=&#8221;67&#8243;] SHUBENACADIE: Here\u2019s a look at some of the fire calls for the month of November.
