{"id":42022,"date":"2024-01-15T19:58:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T23:58:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=42022"},"modified":"2024-01-15T19:58:50","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T23:58:50","slug":"video-hydes-bridge-re-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=42022","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: Hyde&#8217;s Bridge re-opens"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;115&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LANTZ:<\/strong> To much happiness from local residents, the barricades blocking access to Hyde&#8217;s Bridge in Lantz came down just before noon on Jan. 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That movement meant that after four years-plus of not being able to simply cross from Lantz to Dutch Settlement along Hwy 277 one could cross again on the new two lane bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was closed in Sept. 2019, and after a few months since the bridge itself was taken out, the new one is in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;190&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many locals took the chance to drive over it and back again after it was re-opened on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were a few walkers too who took the chance to see how well it would be for walkers, although it was tight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no pedestrian walkway\/sidewalks on the bridge so it makes walking it a bit treacherous and possible safety issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/GD466RQWoAAi5Gq-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42026\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A construction vehicle sits on the clsoed Hyde&#8217;s Bridge with fresh snow at about 10 am.
