Sam will be joined by a groundhog mascot to help celebrate Groundhog Day in style.<br \/><br \/>\u201cOur annual Groundhog Day celebration is a fun tradition for many Nova Scotia families,\u201d said Tory Rushton, Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m always hopeful Sam will predict an early spring, but either way, this is a much-anticipated event every year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;190&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<br \/><br \/>Folklore says winter will last for six more weeks if the groundhog sees its shadow, while no shadow is a sign of an early spring.<br \/><br \/>February 2 is also World Wetlands Day.
