LUCASVILLE:<\/strong> The Lucasville Bridge will begin receiving repairs and upgrade work starting this month, the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the municipality\u2019s 2024\/25 Capital Plan the Lucasville Road bridge will undergo repair and upgrades starting April 2024 through January 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This work is necessary to ensure continued use of the bridge and modernization of some features in alignment with current construction standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”34′]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate group=”6″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to concrete repairs, the planned work includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n installing new barriers and a wider sidewalk to improve pedestrian use;<\/p>\n\n\n\n removal of the expansion joints to reduce future maintenance; and,<\/p>\n\n\n\n repaving of Lucasville Road on the bridge and bridge approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Current status<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Starting early April, contractors will begin pre-construction set-up which may result in minor traffic impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”31″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”206″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n Construction is expected to begin mid-April 2024 through mid-January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although the bridge will not be closed during this period, construction will require reducing the bridge to one line throughout construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Crossing the bridge will be facilitated through signal lights operating 24 hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week throughout the construction period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”71″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”105″]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [adrotate banner=”127″] [adrotate banner=”188″] LUCASVILLE: The Lucasville Bridge will begin receiving repairs and upgrade work starting this month, the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has announced.
