Matheson Centre in Elmsdale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event occurred just outside the Library with many members of municipal council and the municipality on hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded through the Canada Council for the Arts, Syliboy will embark on creating a series of murals depicting Mi\u2019kmaw stories to be prominently displayed within the Municipality of East Hants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/054-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45998\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">(Dagley Media photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;218&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a release announcing the partnership, Syliboy said that the project is deeply important to him, both culturally and personally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Knowing that Indigenous art will be displayed in areas of high visibility for years to come, representing and educating both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people alike, fills my heart with awe,\u201d said Syliboy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elder Bernie Syliboy commenced the event with an opening prayer and ceremonial smudging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VIDEO: <em>Sponsored by Cup of Soul Cafe.
