ENFIELD;<\/strong> Over the past week, officers with East Hants RCMP responded to 165 calls for service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following are among some of the highlighted calls as provided by East Hants RCMP Const. Preston Burns, Community Policing Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BREAK-AND-ENTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 11, East Hants RCMP received a report of a break and enter at Aerovision Canada in Mount Uniacke that occurred in the early morning hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few items were taken and there are no suspects at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the East Hants District RCMP at 902-883-7077.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCAMMERS GET THOUSANDS FROM MAITLAND MAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 12, East Hants RCMP were advised that a man from Maitland was scammed out of several thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It happened after the man received a call from an unknown person stating that his social insurance number was cancelled due to illegal activity detected on it in another province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim proceeded to send funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is urged to contact the RCMP for advice whenever an unknown or suspicious person asked for money transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LOUD EXPLOSION CREATES CONCERN, CALL TO POLICE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 15, there was a report of a loud explosion in East Uniacke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One resident reported that it was so loud that it knocked his trailer off his jack stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCMP officers investigated and learned that a local quarry had received blasting permits for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MVC\u2019S KEEP POLICE BUSY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past week, East Hants RCMP responded to 15 motor vehicles collisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mvc\u2019s resulted in numerous injuries to drivers and passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Hants RCMP are urging motorists to take extra precaution while driving this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
