Environment and Climate Change (NSECC) said its aware of a possible discharge into Lake Thomas from a pipe behind a Fall River business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kristin Matthews, communications with NSECC, said that the department received a complaint on July 29 about discharge going into Lake Thomas from Inn on the Lake. A post was made on local Facebook group Plan Fall River with a photo showing the discharge. Some thought it may have just been dye and not discharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur Inspection, Compliance, and Enforcement&nbsp;officers immediately responded and conducted a site visit that afternoon,\u201d said Matthews on July 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile they were at the site, there was no active discharge going into the lake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said the investigation is currently ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matthews said that also on July 29 that Inn on the Lake was issued a Summary Offense Ticket for a previous discharge incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In that one, they failed to notify ECC of discharge going into Lake Thomas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBusinesses that have environmental approvals from Environment and Climate Change are required to ensure their operations do not impact our environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe owners have expressed that they plan to take corrective action to prevent this from happening again.
