{"id":48728,"date":"2024-09-29T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-29T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=48728"},"modified":"2024-09-29T09:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-29T12:00:00","slug":"sipeknekatik-hosting-national-truth-reconciliation-day-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=48728","title":{"rendered":"Sipekne&#8217;katik hosting National Truth &amp; Reconciliation Day events"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SHUBENACADIE:<\/strong> Plenty of events are planned to commemorate National Truth &amp; Reconciliation Day by the Shubenacadie River on Monday Sept. 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The events have been organized by those from Sipekne&#8217;katik First nation, and will take place at the former Shubenacadie Residential School site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Events will also take place on Treaty Day Oct. 1 in Sipekne&#8217;katik First Nation at the Arbour near LSK School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the site by the Shubie River, the events to commemorate the day will start at 10 a.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;190&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;115&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day&#8217;s events will start at 10 a.m. with the Honour Song and Opening Prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sipekne&#8217;katik Chief Michelle Glasgow will start the group of dignitaries speaking at 10;10 a.m; Kings-Hants MP Kody Blois is set to speak at 10:20 a.m.; and Hants East MLA John A.
