{"id":51678,"date":"2025-01-18T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=51678"},"modified":"2025-01-18T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T14:30:00","slug":"middle-sackville-man-charged-in-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=51678","title":{"rendered":"Middle Sackville man charged in robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;126&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;169&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> A 38-year-old Middle Sackville man has been charged after police say he was involved in an early morning robbery on Jan. 15 at a Lower Sackville business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment say that at approximately 5:50 a.m., on Jan. 15 officers responded to a report of a robbery at a gas station on Cobequid Road in Lower Sackville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators learned that a man entered the business, brandished a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no injuries reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;34&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A search of the area, assisted by Police Dog Services of the Halifax Regional Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That led officers to a home on Dickey Dr., where two men were safely arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later that morning, a search warrant was executed at the residence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers seized cash, cigarettes and a knife from the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;148&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;6&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matthew Christopher Specht, 38, from Middle Sackville, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robbery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mischief<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uttering Threats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carrying a Concealed Weapon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Specht appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court and was remanded into custody.
