ENFIELD:<\/strong> East Hants RCMP were made aware of yet another scam that happened on Thursday in East Hants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Const. Preston Burns, with East Hants RCMP, said the victim took a call from a person who claimed to be an RCMP member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe caller I.D. showed displayed the local RCMP Rawdon Detachment phone number,\u201d said Const. Burns, community policing officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe caller told the victim that if they didn\u2019t send a sum of money to them, that they would be arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”218″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n [adrotate banner=”111″]<\/p>\n\n\n\n To make the scam even more convincing, another person was in contact with the victim masquerading as a Canada Revenue Agency employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That person claimed to be working with the RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe victim unfortunately was scammed out of a significant amount of money,\u201d said Const.
