{"id":53068,"date":"2025-03-19T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-19T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=53068"},"modified":"2025-03-19T19:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T22:00:00","slug":"donation-from-lions-club-to-be-used-to-purchase-new-bleachers-for-baseball-football-field","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=53068","title":{"rendered":"Donation from Lions Club to be used to purchase new bleachers for baseball, football field"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;235&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;127&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER:<\/strong> Two minor sports organizations will benefit from the support of another local non-profit organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the Fall River &amp; Riverlake District Lions Club announced they were donating $10,000 to LWF Baseball to purchase bleachers for the new ball\/foot ball field at Carmel Crescent in Fall River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bleachers would also be utilized and benefit Fall River Dragons Minor Football who will play there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lion Kirk Stephen made the announcement at the LWF Hall before a recent monthly meeting of the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;31&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;188&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stephen said the Lions Club was happy they could help with minor baseball. LWF had more than 900 kids registered for the sport last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey were in desperate need of some bleachers for the new ball and football field,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The field is expected to be in operation this Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalrymple said they are starting the Challenger baseball program for young players with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re also starting a girls softball division,\u201d he added. \u201cWe will go over the 1,000 mark in registration this year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_1095-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53173\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Group shot of the Lions Club members with LWF Baseball officials as the cheque is presented.
