{"id":55626,"date":"2025-05-13T16:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T19:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=54322"},"modified":"2025-05-13T16:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T19:30:00","slug":"open-east-hants-day-about-bringing-awareness-to-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=55626","title":{"rendered":"Open East Hants Day about bringing awareness to community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;238&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;115&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ENFIELD:<\/strong> Mother Nature tried but didn\u2019t prevail in dampening the spirits of the many who came out to the pop-up market at Open East Hants Day at the Enfield Fire Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual event is held to promote small businesses and is organized by the East Hants &amp; Districts Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year saw businesses across the municipality hold events at their own location, with others going to the fire hall for the pop-up market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_1464-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54394\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">(Dillman photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;190&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;111&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Enfield fire hall, more than 100 people had come by about a couple of hours in, said Karen Duncan, Membership &amp; Events Coordinator with the Chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe rain is not dampening our spirts,\u201d said Duncan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople are getting out and seeing what East Hants has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the vendors at the fire hall were Sunnyridge Equestrian, TIDEFEST 2025, Summer Camps Unplugged, Miss C\u2019S Creations, 9 Mile River Trails, among some of the vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fire hall was full of owners of small businesses or community groups in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;105&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said there were plenty of other businesses holding BBQs and doing fun activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of those was Renew Health\/ADAPT Fitness.
