Jon Neima, with East Hants RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 18, a 49-year-old man from Bedford was arrested for assault with a weapon causing bodily harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man was compelled to court for first appearance July 7 in Shubenacadie.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The alleged offence took place in East Hants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VEHICLE SET ON FIRE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A burnt-out Hyundai SUV was found located off Blois Road in Nine Mile River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no identifiable markings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police say through their investigation an East Hants resident was arrested for this offence on May 14<sup>.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will have their first appearance on July 7in Shubenacadie.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The matter is still under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POLICE RESPONSES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other responses this week included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three check stops completed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13 Summary Offence Tickets issued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two Impaired Drivers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nine traffic collisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cResidents of East Hants should reduce speed and pay attention to the road\/road conditions,\u201d Cpl. (RCMP photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shoplifting suspects sought<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>East Hants RCMP are looking to identify two women involved in shoplifting from an Elmsdale business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shoplifting complaints took place at the NSLC in Elmsdale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police say that the multiple thefts occurred between May 15 and May 19.
