So, I did single crochets and then I started getting higher and now I know a lot of the stitches,\u201d Seitl says.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After learning how to crochet, the first thing she made on her own was a little pumpkin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, with even more practice, she started making more things, like octopuses, frogs, pickles, scrunchies, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;115&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate group=&#8221;2&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she started to make a wider variety, she said her friends asked if they could take some. This made her realize that they are something she could sell.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always loved going to sales and markets and stuff, so I was like, why don\u2019t I like have my own business so I can start it and just sell my stuff at markets,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI started it, and I really enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her first market was at the Open East Hants Day Market, and she\u2019s now done three markets. She also sells her items on Facebook.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She believes her most popular item to sell would be her pickles that she crochets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI remember the second market I did, I sold out of all the pickles in one hour,\u201d she explains.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;54&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;78&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[adrotate banner=&#8221;105&#8243;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although she loves selling her items, Seitl also donates items like blankets for the cancer unit at the Victoria General.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She believes that it\u2019s important for kids her age to learn a hobby like this because it can help with their imagination.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just a nice feeling to get making something and then showing it to the world,\u201d she says.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_0407-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54659\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Sam Seitl. (Dillman photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Seitl says she hopes to expand her craft by learning how to make bigger animals and by learning how to make sweaters, which is her most recent project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest project she has done so far is a little suitcase that stores a little mouse traveller. It stores clothes for the mouse, little cheese, and the mouse can even sleep inside it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She says she\u2019s lucky because a lot of her yarn is given to her by family members.
