{"id":56642,"date":"2025-07-08T18:05:36","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T21:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=56642"},"modified":"2025-07-08T18:05:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T21:05:36","slug":"man-arrested-bank-robbery-stolen-vehicle-following-chase-that-ends-in-beaver-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=56642","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested for bank robbery, stolen vehicle following chase that ends in Beaver Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BEAVER BANK<\/strong>: A 51-year-old man has been arrested following a chase that saw him lead police from Dartmouth out to Lower Sackville and then onto Beaver Bank Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax Regional Police said that the man was arrested for a robbery that occurred on June 30 at the Bank of Montreal at 6980 Mumford Road in Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At approximately 11:20 a.m. (July 8), the suspect was in a stolen motor vehicle in the 400 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth,&#8221; HRP said in a release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect refused to stop and continued toward Magazine Hill.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>HRP said that officers did not initially engage in a pursuit but continued to follow at a distance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As the vehicle headed onto Highway 102, into Sackville, officers actively pursued,&#8221; the force said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pursuit concluded on Beaver Bank Road where the vehicle was stopped. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 51-year-old man was arrested. Charges are pending as a result. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation was conducted by Halifax Regional Police\u2019s Emergency Response Team and Quick Response Unit.
