{"id":57100,"date":"2025-07-20T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=57100"},"modified":"2025-07-20T15:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T18:30:00","slug":"hall-dominates-on-way-to-iwk-250-victory-regains-pro-stock-tour-points-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=57100","title":{"rendered":"Hall dominates on way to IWK 250 victory, regains Pro Stock Tour points lead"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56557&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RIVERSIDE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY: <\/strong>Cory Hall has always wanted to put a checkmark next to the IWK 250.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now the Jolicure, N.B., driver, who now calls Plymouth, Pictou County home, can do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wheelman of the no. 83 Kings Competition-Mid Coast Excavation-Kris Fournier ReMax Realtor sponsored hot rod led all but one lap in the Fort Garry Industries Maritime Pro Stock Tour\u2019s IWK 250, presented by Steve Lewis, on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race saw just two cautions&#8211;one for a wreck involving the no. 11V of Jordan Veinotte on lap 14 and the other one for the halfway break at lap 125.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hall dominated the day not just by winning the race, which comes with a cool $20,000 pay day, but also capturing the Hanley Cup for being the fastest in qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also won Wednesday night\u2019s Dash for Cash 75 lap warmup amongst the 15-car field in a different car than the one he raced on Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been wanting this one for a while,\u201d said Hall shortly after hoisting the revered John W. Chisholm Cup in the air on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56511&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Hall spoke of winning the IWK 250 before but as a spotter on top of the box for Greg Proude when he won it in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cObviously crew chiefing with Greg for quite a few years I won it on top of the box with him, to come here and do it myself is really cool,\u201d he said. \u201cWe miss him (Greg) and would love to have him back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The win puts Hall back into the points lead ahead of the 54 of Jarrett Butcher, who now calls Enfield home. Butcher finished fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ashton Tucker in the no. 2 managed to get by Nic Naugle, who had been challenging Hall for several laps and looked to get a pass on him but got loose and from then on Hall never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naugle came home with a third-place finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two-time IWK 250 winner Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GwQsAt7WAAA9K_L-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57116\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The top three for the FGI Pro Stock Tour&#8217;s IWK 250, presented by Steve Lewis. (Healey photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56560&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Hall credited his team for having a car that was a rocket ship right off the hauler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat an amazing car,\u201d said Hall in a post-race interview. \u201cI just can\u2019t thank King Competition, Andrew (Hicken) and all the stuff the guys at the shop do. They all had a hand with this car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMan was it ever good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of the year Hall had six races on his schedule as doing on the Pro Stock Tour, but winning three of the first four races has him thinking differently. He joked in victory lane to a couple people that he thinks those plans have changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He confirmed he will be on the entry list for this Saturday\u2019s BJ\u2019s Truck Centre 150 at Oyster Bed Speedway, a track he loves and is particularly good at. Green flag is set for 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s good to get the points lead back,\u201d he said. &#8220;We\u2019re moving on to PEI which we really like and go from there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56376&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Local racers on the tour finished mid-pack with a couple of drivers wishing for better results given their qualifying efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Braden Langille of Shubenacadie, driving the colourful Chilly Pop Coldstream Clear Distillery no. 26, came home in 15<sup>th<\/sup> place, four laps down, in the 25-car field. He qualified seventh for the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfield\u2019s Gage Gilby in the no. 25G CKG Elevator sponsored machine was third on the grid when the green flag flew. He came home in 14<sup>th<\/sup> place, three laps down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shubenacadie\u2019s Steve Lively drove the no. 30, with Ritchie\u2019s Renovations &amp; Excavating on the hood, to a 17<sup>th<\/sup> place finish, five laps down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American race car driver Bubba Pollard, the special guest driver this year, wheeled the no. 25 Toromont CAT Car for Kids to a sixth-place finish at Riverside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The races contingency awards were as follows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eastlink Fastest Lap Award: <strong>Cory Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R&amp;D Performancentre Most Laps Led Award: <strong>Cory Hall <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swift Springs Hard Charger Award: <strong>Ryan Messer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QA1 Free Pass Award: <strong>Dylan Blenkhorn&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fivestar Hard Luck Award: <strong>Jordan Veinotte<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucas Oil Rookie of the Race: <strong>Matt Palmer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fort Garry Industries Pro Stock Tour heads across the Confederation Bridge this weekend with the BJ\u2019s Truck Centre 150 at Oyster Bed Speedway, the first of two visits for the series to scenic Prince Edward Island.
