{"id":57700,"date":"2025-08-14T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=57700"},"modified":"2025-08-14T07:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T10:00:00","slug":"two-men-arrested-for-drug-offences-following-traffic-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=57700","title":{"rendered":"Two men arrested for drug offences following traffic stop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment arrested two men for drug offences after a traffic stop in Lower Sackville.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 12, at approximately 11:55 a.m. an RCMP officer was conducting proactive patrols in the area of Sackville Dr. and Sackville Crossroads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s when they observed a Ford Explorer with two male occupants travelling with a license plate registered to a different vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A traffic stop was initiated and the officer learned the passenger had an outstanding warrant.\u00a0 The passenger was arrested and the vehicle was searched.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers located cocaine in the vehicle and then arrested the driver.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A further search of the driver and the vehicle found additional forms of cocaine, cash and other drug evidence.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver, a 41-year-old man from Middle Sackville, and the passenger, a 49-year-old man from Sipekne&#8217;katik, were released on conditions pending their upcoming court appearance.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both men will face a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>File # 25-115436<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56506&#8243;]<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOWER SACKVILLE: RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment arrested two men for drug offences after a traffic stop in Lower Sackville.\u00a0 On August 12, at approximately 11:55 a.m. an RCMP officer was conducting proactive patrols in the area of Sackville Dr. and Sackville Crossroads.
