{"id":57856,"date":"2025-08-19T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=57856"},"modified":"2025-08-19T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T11:00:00","slug":"big-bats-timely-defence-power-u18a-rangers-to-provincial-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=57856","title":{"rendered":"Big bats, timely defence power U18A Rangers to provincial championship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56560&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WAVERLEY:<\/strong> Big bats led the way for the Tri County Rangers U-18 A squad last weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rangers went undefeated to capture the provincial championship on home field before the hometown fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tri County outscored the opposition 51-17 en route to the Baseball Nova Scotia title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team includes: Brayden Watson; Cohen Marson; Cole Howell; Dylan MacDougall; Evan Malloy; Jack Whittaker; Jaxon Murphy; Koleton Soper; Liam Kays; Luca Bianchi; Nicholas House; Sam Skebo; and Shane Brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Team coaches were Jason Kays; Todd House; Tim Brown; Ryan DeWolfe; and Xavier Kays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amie Moore was team manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56511&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Against Hammonds Plains, the Rangers won 10-3 with Dylan MacDougall named MVP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second game saw the Rangers rout Berwick 14-3 with Brayden Watson as the MVP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In game three, Tri-County was pushed as New Waterford threatened, but the Rangers were able to pull it off 6-5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cole Howell, who caught almost 30 innings behind the plate for the Rangers in the tournament, was named the game\u2019s MVP<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Against Amherst, Brayden Watson led the way to earn MVP honours in the 7-2 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the championship final, Brayden Watson came up big again as the offense exploded to trounce Eastern Shore 14-4 and capture the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56526&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56557&#8243;]<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WAVERLEY: Big bats led the way for the Tri County Rangers U-18 A squad last weekend.
