WAVERLEY:<\/strong> Julia Konigshofer ended her athletics season all smiles at the 2025 Canada Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konigshofer grabbed a silver medal for Team Nova Scotia in women\u2019s javelin during week two of the competition event in St. John\u2019s, NL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Waverley athlete was among the large contingent of Nova Scotia athletes from the multi-sport event featuring some of Canada’s best to arrive home late Sunday night at Halifax Stanfield Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a junior skills coach at One Last Rep Sports Training in Dartmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konigshofer spoke to The Laker News as she waited for her luggage to come in the terminal along with many other athletes at HSIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a goal of mine to win a medal and bring it home for Nova Scotia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m just really proud of myself for capturing silver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really happy that I ended my 2025 season off with a medal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

She said winning a medal as a Nova Scotia athlete means a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeing from Nova Scotia and being raised here since I was 12 it means a lot to win a medal for the province,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe community is so good here and I\u2019m just glad I represented it on the biggest stage possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konigshofer said a lot of hard work and training led her to the silver medal. She used to play baseball, but shifted her focus squarely to track a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere was a lot of long hours,\u201d she said. \u201cA lot of sacrifices have been made for this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
