MIDDLE SACKVILLE:<\/strong> A Middle Sackville youth has been arrested after threats were made online of causing harm to students and staff at a school in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RCMP say that on Sept. 2, at approximately 3 p.m. RCMP in Lower Sackville received a report a youth had made an online post threatening a school and its students and staff,. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police say the youth posted a picture of themselves, on school property, holding a firearm, while making threats to harm staff and students.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the investigation, officers learned the firearm was an airsoft gun.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 16-year-old of Middle Sackville was safely arrested at a home for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and was released on conditions.\u00a0 They will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA social media post intended to appear \u2018cool\u2019 could have lasting criminal consequences.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
