MIDDLE SACKVILLE:<\/strong> Like they do whenever tragedy hits, the residents of Lower Sackville and area are stepping up their generosity game following the devastating apartment fire in Middle Sackville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team at GoFundMe is even helping out setting up a centralized Sackville Fire Relief Hub<\/a> to make it easier for people and donate to verified fundraisers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s Trust & Safety team are actively reviewing fundraisers, and will update the hub as new fundraisers are verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An official with GoFundMe told The Laker News on Wednesday that as more fundraisers are setup or come online with them and are verified by their team they will be added to the Sackville Fire Relief Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, donations are continuing to be dropped off as well for families affected by the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is taking place at the Encounter Church of the Salvation Army who are collecting donations for those impacted by the fire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       non-perishable food <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       clothing <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       hygiene products <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donations can be dropped off at 51 Metropolitan Ave, Lower Sackville<\/a>, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, tenants in the apartment building on Hanwell Drive were receiving a letter from their landlord. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It tells them that authorities have deemed the building uninhabitable after the fire and as such they will be terminating their lease and refunding their damage deposit and half of September’s rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That basically means the residents are without a place to stay or call their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents are urged to contact an insurance agent if they have insurance or need to access the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
