LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> A young hockey player from Lower Sackville has been selected to participate in a tournament that showcases the best 9-10-year-old hockey players in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brick Tournament is a tournament that highlights the top 9\u201310-year-old players in North America and is held annually at the West Edmonton Mall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is considered Canada\u2019s top tournament for this age group and is a once in a lifetime opportunity for participating players and where many NHL players have competed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preston Joseph, who is nine, and plays in the Sackville Minor Hockey Association has been selected to compete at the tournament in July 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is trained by Andrew Wigginton from Fusion Hockey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preston has recently been selected to compete with the Team Quebec Brick team at the prestigious Brick Invitational Tournament next July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Preston played for the Sackville Minor Hockey U11AA program as an underage player. He earned exceptional status to play within his Minor Hockey Association to align with his elite hockey goals. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Brick Tournament has a deep pool of NHL alumni, with players like Connor Bedard, Steven Stamkos, P.K. Subban, Auston Matthews, and Cole Caufield all have played in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some have described the tournament as an incubator for talent, providing elite competition that sharpens skills and helps to create a pipeline to major junior, NCAA, and professional hockey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 80% of players go on to play CHL, NCAA or College Hockey <\/p>\n\n\n\n
