LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> Police say additional arrests are expected as the investigation into a home invasion in Lower Sackville on Sept. 20 is continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the home invasion involved youths. They responded to the report of individuals being sprayed with a sensory irritant during a disturbance at a residence on Hillside Avenue at approximately at 11:53 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival, RCMP officers located several youth victims who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. EHS attended the scene to provide medical assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation revealed that four masked youths entered the residence, where a group of youths had gathered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Once inside, a pellet gun was discharged, and one occupant was assaulted,” police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspects then fled the residence and deployed a sensory irritant in the driveway, affecting multiple individuals, including a nearby resident who had come outside due to the commotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four persons of interest were quickly identified based on information gathered at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A coordinated search of the area was initiated with assistance from Halifax Regional Police Dog Services and an RCMP drone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two youth suspects were subsequently located and safely arrested at a residence on Alder Crescent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have since been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Justice Court at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At approximately 10 a.m. on Sept. 21, RCMP officers executed a search warrant at the Alder Crescent residence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is ongoing, and officers continue to gather information and evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this time, investigators do not believe the home invasion was random. Additional arrests are anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
