Ross was a mother of two young children at the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set and Ross\u2019s death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July 2017, the NEN MCU charged Joshua Eric\u00a0Crowell, then 27,\u00a0of Upper\u00a0Sackville, with Murder (second-degree). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charge was later withdrawn by the Crown in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56511&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:34px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 2, 2025, investigators re-charged Crowell, now 35, with Murder (second-degree) in Ross\u2019s death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was safely arrested on October 1 in Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOver the course of this exhaustive investigation, officers collected and analyzed a substantial amount of evidence and spoke with many witnesses who shared critical information,\u201d said Cpl.
