{"id":59368,"date":"2025-10-15T20:50:30","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T23:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=59368"},"modified":"2025-10-15T20:50:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T23:50:30","slug":"lower-sackville-man-formerly-of-fall-river-area-charged-with-drug-trafficking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=59368","title":{"rendered":"Lower Sackville man, formerly of Fall River area, charged with drug trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56506&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LOWER SACKVILLE:<\/strong> A former Fall River area resident who now calls Lower Sackville home has been charged with drug trafficking after an investigation by RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment&#8217;s (HRD) Community Action Response Team (CART).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a release, a spokesperson for the RCMP said that on October 9, RCMP HRD CART arrested three men and executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking to people who are unhoused in Lower Sackville.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three men were arrested in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Bedford Hwy. and the search took place at a residence on Polara Dr. in Lower Sackville. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the search, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone pills, cash, copper wire, stripped copper, and two vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Frank George Duffy, 58, of Lower Sackville, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Prohibited Weapon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Duffy remains in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 17.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 51-year-old man of Dartmouth, and a 41-man of Halifax were released pending appearances in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56511&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is ongoing, led by RCMP HRD CART.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe RCMP and Halifax Regional Municipality continue to work in close partnership to uphold public safety through proactive enforcement and compassionate community support, helping to ensure the well-being of all residents, including those living in encampments,\u201d said S\/Sgt.
