{"id":59573,"date":"2025-10-21T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=59573"},"modified":"2025-10-21T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T11:00:00","slug":"police-charge-woman-after-theft-of-a-fire-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=59573","title":{"rendered":"Police charge woman after theft of a fire truck"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HALIFAX<\/strong>: A 28-year-old woman has been charged by Halifax Regional Police (HRP) after a Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency truck was stolen on Monday morning Oct. 20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 5:10 a.m., Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded to a fire alarm at a building on Almon Street in Halifax. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;While on scene, a woman got into a fire truck and drove away,&#8221; said HRP in a release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police were called at approximately 5:50 a.m. Officers located the unoccupied fire truck at the intersection of Clifton Street and Charles Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 6:30 a.m., officers located and arrested the suspect in the 2300 block of Gottingen Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were no physical injuries reported and no reports of property damage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julia Elvena King, 28, appeared in Halifax provincial court later Oct. 20 to face the following charges: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Assault a peace officer <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Mischief <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Mischief endangering life <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Operation of a conveyance while impaired to any degree by alcohol or drugs or combination of both <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Failure or refusal to comply with demand for testing <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Theft over $5000.00 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>File #25-151871<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56506&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HALIFAX: A 28-year-old woman has been charged by Halifax Regional Police (HRP) after a Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency truck was stolen on Monday morning Oct. 20.
