{"id":59846,"date":"2025-10-29T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=59846"},"modified":"2025-10-29T09:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T12:00:00","slug":"hants-north-man-receives-18-months-probation-for-sexual-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=59846","title":{"rendered":"Hants North man receives probation for sexual assault"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56509&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SHUBENACADIE:<\/strong> A man well-known in the Hants North community has received a conditional discharge after being sentenced for a sexual assault on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eric White (date of birth: April 13, 1961) had pled guilty in July to the criminal offence of sexual assault against the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The offence date was March 18, 2023 near Noel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim\u2019s identity had been protected by a publication ban, however the Crown requested on the victim\u2019s behalf that the ban be lifted on the same day as the sentencing took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court approved that request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the sentencing hearing in Shubenacadie Provincial Court, White was given a conditional discharge with 18 months probation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means he must fully complete and abide by the conditions ordered by the court before a discharge can be formally entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56514&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SHUBENACADIE: A man well-known in the Hants North community has received a conditional discharge after being sentenced for a sexual assault on Oct. 20.
