{"id":60237,"date":"2025-11-15T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=60237"},"modified":"2025-11-15T09:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T13:30:00","slug":"rentcafe-com-report-indicates-halifax-as-renters-top-sought-after-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=60237","title":{"rendered":"RentCafe.com report indicates Halifax as renters top sought-after city"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CANADA: <\/strong>Renters across Canada have a new crush this quarter, and smaller cities are finally getting their moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each quarter, RentCafe.com take the pulse of renter activity across Canada to see<strong> <\/strong>wh<strong>ere people are really searching for their next apartment<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest data is now available on their website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/blog\/rental-market\/market-snapshots\/canada-renter-interest-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canadian Renter Interest Report.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this report, they tracked four key signs of renter interest across 25 cities: from the most-viewed rentals to the listings people loved enough to save or favourite as they narrowed down their search.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what they found:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Moncton, NB, is now the most sought-after rental city in Canada, reclaiming the #1 spot with a 58% year-over-year spike in listing engagement \u2014 the highest nationwide.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hamilton, ON, jumped 12 positions to #12, marking<strong> <\/strong>the biggest leap in the ranking<strong> <\/strong>compared to the previous quarter, all thanks to a 32% spike in favourited apartments.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Halifax, NS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax advances three spots to #2 nationally with a score of 99.89, reflecting a major rise in renter interest this quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Page views rose 45% year-over-year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Favourited listings surged 241%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Saved searches ranked within the top two nationally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The only large Canadian city to see a jump in renter engagement this quarter is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/ca\/bc\/vancouver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vancouver<\/a>, which typically sits near the bottom of their ranking: Favourited listings jumped 83% and saved searches surged 92% compared to last year<strong>.<\/strong><br><br>Meanwhile, all the other large cities are moving in the opposite direction, as shown below:\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/u\/5?ui=2&amp;ik=36953f70e3&amp;attid=0.2&amp;permmsgid=msg-f:1848674349820208248&amp;th=19a7cf86c668e478&amp;view=fimg&amp;fur=ip&amp;permmsgid=msg-f:1848674349820208248&amp;sz=s0-l75-ft&amp;attbid=ANGjdJ_xbDIVJw98D8pEiuinvrn28zDhUkLv1SOwUu0zBst9jAIrTjR94KBg21p-XxRQd_5c1nbEphb4d5IQNndGST2zbqVKGEKfez0mtlHbd4_RaslCBrHjmlTV5z0&amp;disp=emb&amp;realattid=ace5613d40501b93f06d4936e02a38ed&amp;zw\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56514&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>By contrast,<strong> <\/strong>smaller markets like Halifax, NS;
