{"id":60568,"date":"2025-11-25T20:19:44","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T00:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=60568"},"modified":"2025-11-25T20:19:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T00:19:44","slug":"a-pattern-of-kindness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=60568","title":{"rendered":"A pattern of kindness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DARTMOUTH:<\/strong> Tartan has a history that spans centuries and countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most notably, it is&nbsp;recognized as a symbol of family. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Nova Scotia SPCA, they have a long history of creating families, keeping families together, and supporting pet families through programs and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across the province, and organization, the SPCA family spans adopters, donors, staff and volunteers; students and graduates from the Nova Scotia SPCA College of Animal Welfare; clients at Tartan Tails Veterinary Hospitals; customers at their SPCA Thrift Stores; and the animals adopted from their shelters, whom they lovingly refer to as SPCA Alumni. \u00a0<br>\u202f\u00a0<br>They are delighted to launch their own tartan, officially registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans (registration number 14,382).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56526&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56506&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nova Scotia SPCA chose colours that represent the people and animals they serve,&nbsp;their provincial history, and their organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Red \u2013 Represents the first peoples of our province, the Mi\u2019kmaq people. \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gold \u2013 Represents the over 400 years of contributions to our province by those of African descent. \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Silver \u2013 This colour represents protection, as well as our founding as the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blue \u2013 A colour to represent welcoming newcomers to the shores of Nova Scotia. \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green \u2013 The colour of new beginnings; for animals, people, families. Whatever brings you to the SPCA. \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White \u2013 The eternal colour of hope.
