Advisory impacted customers in the communities of\u00a0Waverley\u00a0Road, Spider Lake,\u00a0Montague Road, Keystone Village, Port Wallace, Montebello,\u00a0Craigwood\u00a0Estates,\u00a0and\u00a0Avenue\u00a0du Portage<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WAVERLEY:<\/strong> Halifax Water is\u00a0advising\u00a0customers\u00a0impacted\u00a0by the Waverley Road\u00a0watermain\u00a0repair\u00a0that the\u00a0precautionary\u00a0boil water advisory issued on\u00a0Sunday, December 7, has been lifted effective\u00a0immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advisory being lifted was announced on Tuesday morning around 11 a.m. in a release and posts online by Halifax Water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is for\u00a0approximately 2,000 customers,\u00a0including those\u00a0along\u00a0Waverley\u00a0Road, Spider Lake, Montague Road, Keystone Village, Port Wallace, Montebello,\u00a0Craigwood\u00a0Estates, and Avenue du Portage\u00a0(see map).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water will be safe for consumption and use after\u00a0impacted\u00a0customers complete the following steps:\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       Fridges or other appliances that store water should be flushed for ten minutes.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       Dispose of ice made by an ice maker or ice cube tray during the boil water advisory.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To lift the Boil Water Advisory, Halifax Water has been continuously\u00a0monitoring\u00a0the system and has\u00a0completed sampling as per\u00a0Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change (NSECC) and the Medical Officer of Health\u00a0(MOH) requirements.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test results confirm that all drinking water samples have met the requirements\u00a0established\u00a0by NSECC\u00a0and the\u00a0MOH,\u00a0therefore the\u00a0precautionary\u00a0boil\u00a0water\u00a0advisory\u00a0can be lifted\u00a0immediately.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u202fHalifax Water\u00a0would like to thank its customers for their cooperation and patience\u00a0as\u00a0crews\u00a0restored service and\u00a0completed\u00a0the\u00a0appropriate sampling\u00a0necessary to lift the advisory.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
