{"id":61573,"date":"2026-01-06T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=61573"},"modified":"2026-01-06T19:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T23:00:00","slug":"u18-womens-world-hockey-teams-to-play-pre-tournament-games-in-hrm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=61573","title":{"rendered":"U18 women&#8217;s world hockey teams to play pre-tournament games in HRM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56560&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DARTMOUTH\/HALIFAX<\/strong>: Hockey fans in Halifax will get a state of the U18 Women&#8217;s World Hockey Championship as Canada and U.S. are set to play in separate pre-tournament games on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The games will be played before the four squads, which also include Finland and Czechia, head to Membertou and Sydney, the host for the world tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national championship will run Jan. 10-18 at Membertou Sports &amp; Wellness Centre and then the playoff games will move to Centre 200, home of the Cape Breton Eagles, in Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Americans and Czechia face off at the RBC Centre in Dartmouth at 4:30 p.m., while Canada host Finland at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both games are open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canada will have Nova Scotians Jaylee MacKinnon and Kendall Doiron in their lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G9x12mVbgAALJ1v-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-61576\" style=\"width:603px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kendall Doiron.
