{"id":62120,"date":"2026-02-05T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=62120"},"modified":"2026-02-05T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T12:00:00","slug":"nova-scotias-second-veterinary-technician-program-launched-by-spca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=62120","title":{"rendered":"Nova Scotia\u2019s second Veterinary Technician program launched by SPCA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56506&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DARTMOUTH:<\/strong> The Nova Scotia SPCA College of Animal Welfare\u00a0is taking applications for the inaugural Veterinary Technician class\u00a0expected to start this spring.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe two-year Veterinary Technician Program prepares students for a career in the animal care industry,\u201d said college vice-president, Marni Tuttle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStudents will develop skills to assist veterinarians in treating animals by administering medications, testing blood and other samples, taking X-rays, administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during and after surgery.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will take place at the newly renovated college in Burnside.
