{"id":62305,"date":"2026-02-11T21:24:27","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T01:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=62305"},"modified":"2026-02-11T21:24:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T01:24:27","slug":"rcmp-charge-three-people-with-multiple-weapons-offences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=62305","title":{"rendered":"RCMP charge three people with multiple weapons offences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56501&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DARTMOUTH:<\/strong> The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment (HRD) Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged three people with multiple weapons offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 3, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the RCMP HRD SCEU, with the assistance of the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Teams, safely arrested two men and a woman at a hotel in Dartmouth Crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was done as part of an ongoing firearms investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During searches after the arrests, officers seized a prohibited handgun, conducted energy weapon, a sensory irritant spray, and a quantity of cash.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56179&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dreonne Valdez Lester Colley-Williams, 22, of East Preston, is charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Careless Use of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fail to Comply with Release Order (two counts).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dominica Devina Kostakos-Beals, 28, of Dartmouth, is charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Careless Use of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (three counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession Contrary to Order<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Darrell Jamel Williams, 37, of East Preston, is charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Careless Use of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56530&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56526&#8243;]<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Colley-Williams was held in custody and appeared in Dartmouth Provincial court on February 6.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was released pending future court appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kostakos-Beals appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on February 4 and was released pending future court appearances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams was released by police pending future court appearances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with information about criminal activity in their community is encouraged to contact their nearest RCMP detachment or local police.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crimestoppers.ns.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.crimestoppers.ns.ca<\/a>, or use the P3 Tips app.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>File #: 26-8057<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\">[metaslider id=&#8221;56191&#8243;]<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DARTMOUTH: The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment (HRD) Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged three people with multiple weapons offences.
