There\u2019s a lot more to be done,\u201d Rogers said after the game. \u201cGame two wasn\u2019t the best of us, and we\u2019ve been getting off to a slow start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut tonight was a big one and we just have to continue on from there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_8003-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63114\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Puck battle along the boards during the game. (Healey photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>A turning point came early in the third period when the Thunder were assessed two major penalties on the same play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cruz Thompson received a major for head contact while Brady Stone was handed a match penalty at 1:16 of the period after Rogers was knocked down and cross-checked while players were piled on top of him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>East Hants made the Thunder pay, scoring two power-play goals during the extended man advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rogers said the penalties helped the Penguins build momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThem going in the box definitely helped us in the aspect of scoring and getting a little bit of a lead there and getting comfortable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_7824-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63111\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Jacob Edwards sees his shot hit the twine in the back of the net. East Hants directed 33 shots at Thunder netminder Logan Wall, who stopped 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The game featured plenty of physical play, finishing with 46 penalty minutes\u201424 to East Hants and 22 to Eastern Shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penguins forward Rylan Hiltz was also assessed a gross misconduct while serving a slashing penalty late in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the series-clinching victory secured, the Penguins now turn their attention to the championship series against the Admirals as they look to capture the league title.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_7917-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63112\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">An offensive rush is created by an East Hants Penguin.
