{"id":9759,"date":"2019-02-22T13:17:56","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T17:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=9759"},"modified":"2019-02-22T13:17:56","modified_gmt":"2019-02-22T17:17:56","slug":"fall-river-woman-volunteering-with-habitat-for-humanity-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=9759","title":{"rendered":"Fall River woman volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"StoryBody\" class=\"rtEditor\" title=\"(double-click to edit)\" data-role=\"none\">\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER:<\/strong> A Fall River woman spent six days south of the border giving back.<\/p>\n<p>Novalea Pineo, a graduate of Lockview High, and friend Lexi Kerry have spent four days travelling by bus so they can give back at the Habitat for Humanity efforts that are continuing in Beaumont, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Pineo\u2019s late dad Derek gave back to the community through fundraising for Habitat for Humanity in their town of Nipawin, Sask.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to follow in his footsteps,\u201d said Pineo in an email interview from Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The two women are thrilled to be able to lend a helping hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"_5yl5\">It\u2019s an amazing feeling to be able to give to other people and help make their homes livable once again,\u201d said Pineo. \u201cWe will be repairing homes and fixing up homes making them livable again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\">The two are in Texas for six days, before heading back home on the bus for another four days. It came about quite quickly as Kerry mentioned the opportunity to Pineo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\">Pineo is hoping to leave an impact on those she\u2019s helping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_5yl5\">\u201cI expect to meet a bunch of new people and become apart of something that will change peoples lives forever,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FALL RIVER: A Fall River woman spent six days south of the border giving back.
