{"id":9786,"date":"2019-02-25T17:30:01","date_gmt":"2019-02-25T21:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelaker.ca\/?p=9786"},"modified":"2019-02-25T17:30:01","modified_gmt":"2019-02-25T21:30:01","slug":"fall-river-planning-bylaws-due-for-review-streatch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-z.thelaker.ca\/?p=9786","title":{"rendered":"Fall River planning bylaws due for review: Streatch"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"StoryBody\" class=\"rtEditor\" title=\"(double-click to edit)\" data-role=\"none\">\n<p><strong>FALL RIVER:<\/strong> The local councillor said it might be time for the current planning bylaws put in place a few years ago through the Fall River Visioning process to be reviewed.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Steve Streatch was responding to a question from<em> The Laker<\/em> who had heard from residents critical of Streatch and HRM in ignoring bylaws that volunteers worked so tirelessly on to ensure developments would fit the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs it relates to planning documents, all documents in HRM are susceptible to review,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s no different than our regional plan that was reviewed after five years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Riverlakes Secondary plan that was put in place in 2011-2012 is more than past due for reconsideration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that doesn\u2019t mean the whole plan will be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt also means that amendments can be entertained,\u201d said Streatch. \u201cQuite frankly, regional council entertains planning amendments daily.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FALL RIVER: The local councillor said it might be time for the current planning bylaws put in place a few years ago through the Fall River Visioning process to be reviewed.
