Blackwood stops 32, propels Macs to NSU18 win

WINDSOR JUNCTION: A goalie from the Windsor Junction area helped kick start his major midget team’s return to ice action after a pause due to COVID19 restrictions with a superb effort.

Connor Blackwood, who used to call the Windsor Junction area home, stopped 32 of 34 shots to earn second star honours as his Halifax McDonald’s blitzed Weeks Major Midgets 6-2 on Sunday Jan. 31.

Bryson Boudreau of Fall River had a goal and an assist in the victory. On Jan. 30, he had two goals and an assist in the 11-3 win.

Jarrett Todd of Beaver Bank is also a member of the McDonald’s team, coached by Tim Boyce. He did not play in the game Sunday Jan. 31.

However, Todd scored in the game Jan. 30.
