Blackwood, Bell, Todd garner NSU18MHL hardware

WINDSOR JUNCTION/BEAVER BANK: Three hockey players from the Fall River/Beaver Bank area have earned all star accolades and regular season hardware from the N.S. U-18 Midget Hockey League.

Conor Blackwood of Windsor Junction was named to the league’s First All Star Team, while he and Sabastian Lever picked up the best tandem with the Best Goals Against Average for their Halifax McDonalds.

Blackwood was 13-0-0 (won-loss-tie) record, while Lever was 12-4-0. Blackwood’s GAA was 1.81 while Lever had a 2.83 GAA.

Cape Breton Eagles prospect Kian Bell, of Fall River, earned the Most Valuable Player honours for the league.

He had 29 goals and 16 assists in 27 games played for his Steel Subaru U18s. He had four power-play goals and 16 penalty minutes.

Beaver Bank’s Jake Todd, who dons the Cole Harbour Pro Hockey Life Wolfpack jersey, was named the league’s Rookie of the Year. He contributed 16 goals and 45 points in 29 games played, with three power-play goals and 54 penalty minutes.

Meanwhile, Lantz area native Jan Isenor was named the NSU18MHL Volunteer of the Year.
