WAVERLEY: Julia Konigshofer ended her athletics season all smiles at the 2025 Canada Games.
Konigshofer grabbed a silver medal for Team Nova Scotia in women’s javelin during week two of the competition event in St. John’s, NL.
The Waverley athlete was among the large contingent of Nova Scotia athletes from the multi-sport event featuring some of Canada’s best to arrive home late Sunday night at Halifax Stanfield Airport.
She is a junior skills coach at One Last Rep Sports Training in Dartmouth.

She said winning a medal as a Nova Scotia athlete means a lot.
“Being from Nova Scotia and being raised here since I was 12 it means a lot to win a medal for the province,” she said.
“The community is so good here and I’m just glad I represented it on the biggest stage possible.”
Konigshofer said a lot of hard work and training led her to the silver medal. She used to play baseball, but shifted her focus squarely to track a couple of years ago.
“There was a lot of long hours,” she said. “A lot of sacrifices have been made for this moment.”
