Man charged with assault with a weapon, uttering death threats in Truro

TRURO: A 28-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with uttering death threats and assault with a weapon among other things after an incident on Sept. 8 in Truro.

Truro Police Service say that at noon hour on Monday, they received multiple 911 calls reporting a male armed with a knife was trying to force his way into a residence on Brunswick St.

Truro Police Service patrol officers arrived quickly and safely arrested the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a man in the incident.

Police say Andrew Vander Beesen, 28, of no fixed address has been charged with uttering a death threat, possession of a weapon, and assault with a weapon.

The accused appeared in Truro Provincial Court yesterday afternoon.
