Tigers earn baseball championship win at Avon View High tournament

WINDSOR: The HERH Tigers rallied to earn a victory in baseball action at the Avon View tournament.

In the championship game, the team rallied to defeat the NKEC Titans 8-7 at Coyote Park Little Field.

Simon Bugden collected three hits in four at bats, recording a home run and two singles.

The Titans broke up the tie in the third inning when an error scored one run. A single by Kelton Sanford followed to extend the lead to 4-2.

HERH Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a triple by Rylan Turner, a single by Bugden, a single by Ben Canning, and an error.

On the slab, Angus Rumbolt earned the win for HERH Tigers.

He gave up no hits and no runs over two innings of work, striking out two and walking one.

Cameron Cox stole two bases while the Tigers overall had seven stolen bases in the game.

HERH is next in action at North Nova on Wednesday.
