Lantz youth facing charges after fleeing police, speeding, driving dangerously

LANTZ: An 18-year-old Lantz man is facing a slew of charges after an incident involving police.

East Hants RCMP Sgt. Scott MacRae said that officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Sept. 1 near Highway 102 when they observed a vehicle travelling at 160 kilometres per hour.

“The driver failed to stop for police,” said Sgt. MacRae.

He said the vehicle was then observed driving dangerously as well.

The driver was identified and arrested shortly after, said Sgt. MacRae.

The 18-year-old is facing charges for Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Assault, and Breach of Probation.

He is to appear in court at a later date.
